Casting Call: YOU as an Action Figure

XA37

Want to be an “action figure actor” in the Webcomic Series: Plastic Alien Fighters? (This also applies to any custom action figures you may want to turn into “actors”)

It is not really “acting”, as in a scene. Only if you can pose realistically.

I do not make any money whatsoever on this series. It is for fun only. However, I may use it to draw attention to my other writings, some are for profit. So if you appear in an Episode of the series, I may agree to post a link to your website, but you will not receive any pay whatsoever. Your character may be killed off. This is not a roleplaying game. I put all of the words into the mouths of all of the characters. You can make suggestions for the story and your character’s name, but none of it may be used. Unless you request it, your real name will not appear in the credits.

Here is what to do:

You will be posing for photographs that you post on a website, or Facebook or Snapchat or wherever. The more photographs of various poses that you send, the more I can use you. The background of your photos do not matter, since they will be erased anyway.

Your wardrobe should be ONE of the following:

  1. Dress as a regular civilian.  They will be used as extras to run in terror, cower in fear, be victims, or just regular bystanders. Funny is good. The whole premise of action figure comics is humor anyways.
  2. Dress as a Green Soldier. Wear as much green as possible. Do not wear any tan. You must have a weapon of some sort. A rifle or shotgun is best, but a pistol is fine. A secondary weapon would be good as well.  Militaristic accessories would be great.
  3. Dress as a Tan Soldier. Wear as much tan as possible. Do not wear any green. You must have a weapon of some sort. A rifle or shotgun is best, but a pistol is fine. A secondary weapon would be good as well. Militaristic accessories would be great.
  4. Dress as a Gray Soldier. Wear as much gray or black as possible. You must have a weapon of some sort. A rifle or shotgun is best, but a pistol is fine. A secondary weapon would be good as well. Militaristic accessories would be great.
  5. Dress as a Drug Cartel Member. These figures wear white shirts and as much white as possible. You must have a weapon of some sort. A rifle or shotgun is best, but a pistol is fine. Dark sunglasses are a nice touch.
  6. Others: Police, rescue, bystanders . . . etc.

You will need a photographer. Maybe you and your photographer friend can both send pictures. Take photos of yourself such as:

Closeups with various facial expressions. Sitting at a chair from various angles. Running with weapon. Various poses of crouching down with weapon or looking around the corner; Firing weapon using various poses. Use your imagination: Throwing a grenade (does not need to be in hand but toy ones are cheap), Standing at ease and shouldering a weapon. On almost all of the pictures, remember to NOT look into the camera. Try to use a solid contrasting background whenever possible.

Gun safety: make sure there is no ammunition in the gun, including in the chamber. Never point any gun at another person.

Go to the contact page if you have questions, or you have pictures for me to copy. You may go to a lot of work to do this, but I do not guarantee that it will be used. However, I am not looking for movie stars, I am looking for regular people.
